Fare System

01 Shinbundang fare system and subway transfer (Since 2023. 10. 7)

    - In case of selecting the arrival station on
    the ticket vending machine (TVM),
    the machine will issue a ticket
    after “traffic card asic fare + KRW 100 +
    bdeposit (KRW 500)” are paid.
  • ○ The deposit (KRW 500) can be refunded at
    the SBL TVM or metropolitan subway
    refund machine.
  • ※ Single journey card which does not include
    SBL additional fare (KRW 1,000) can be used
    after additional fare is paid at the transfer
    gate to SBL.
Youth Youth basic fare(800won) + 20% discount of standard travel distance fare + 20% discount of each phase of Shinbundang-line extra additional fare No discount

Complimentary
application		 ○ Application of complimentary ride
  • - specially the designated people, such as senior citizens
    (65 years old or older), the handicapped
    (for a serious case handicapped person, including 1 person
    accompanying the men of merit(corresponding persons only).
  • - Infant: under 6 years old(1 guardian, up to 3 infants) charged
      children's fare from 4th one.
○ A single journey traffic card can be
    purchased from SBL TVM with KRW 500
    deposit.
○ The deposit (KRW 500) can be refunded at
    the SBL TVM or metropolitan subway refund
    machine.

Application
  • ○ In case of transferring between Shinbundang line and other metropolitan subway or bus,
    the fare will be determined based on the integrated distance system which cumulates
    the total traveled distance.

Method
  • ○ Passenger should directly contact the traffic card to AFC gate when boarding or alighting.
  • ○ If passenger does not contact the traffic card to AFC gate, the transfer discount will not be applied
    (※ fare of each transportation will be charged separately)
    • - The integrated distance system will be applied only when a passenger transfers from previous
        transportation to other transportation within 30 minutes
        (07:00~21:00) or 60 minutes (21:00~next day 07:00).
    • - If a passenger does not transfer to other transportation within the allowed time, it will be considered as a
        separate trip and the transfer discount will not be applied
    • - The basis for the maximum number of transfers is 4 times(5 times boarding).

03 Imposition of the penalty

Fine ○ The fare for the traveled distance plus 30 times of the fare
Applicable occasions
  • - When a person has entered into a paid area without carrying a ticket
  • - When a non-eligible person for complimentary or discount ticket has used
  • - When a person does not cooperate with a ticket check
  • - When a person has used an invalid, stolen, or lost traffic card etc.
  • - Excessive number of person of a group ticket
  • - Other occasions when a passenger is using a train without carrying a legitimate ticket
  • - Other occasions when unlawful boarding has been occurred

  • ○ Above fare is based on the ordinary traffic card. For a single journey card, additional KRW 100 will be charged.
  • ○ A senior citizens (65 years old or older), handicapped people (including 1 accompanying person for a severe case handicapped persons),
    and the men of merit(eligible person) will be free of charge.
  • ○ Youth(13 years under 19 years old), Children(6 years under 13 years old) will get 20% and 50% discount respectively when they are
    using the traffic card
  • ○ In case of using a prepaid or deferred payment traffic card, integrated transfer discount will be applied for other subway and bus.
Commutation Pass

01 Commutation Pass Fare

  • ○ After buying the card (KRW 2,500) in the SBL Customer Information Centre charge and use it (Use in accordance to the type of fare
        in the metropolitan subway, excluding AREX airport area, etc.)
  • ○ Fare by assorted transportation card × 44 counts × 15% discount
  • ○ Can be used up to 60 times within 30 days from the starting date (within 5 days including the day of purchase).
  • ○ In case of passing through the SBL section, check up the type(level) of commutation pass and use it. When using beyond the specified
       section(by type), additional deduction will be made from the remaining counts of the card.
